LFW Day 1 | Backstage at Fashion Scout

This wasn't entirely out of chance of course, Sabrina was backstage for a lot of the day and invited me along to the Portugal show and I was really looking forward to it (I don't know why but with anything Portuguese or Portugal-related, I feel instantly connected haha). After the disappointment of not getting into the Ashley Isham show, I headed backstage and caught the last few moments backstage before the show began.

Unfortunately I didn't get to see any of the makeup or hair being done because I had been in the queue for Ashley Isham (annoying!) but I did get a sneak peak of what they wore before the catwalk. We were then rushed in to see the catwalk show with the BodyShop girls.

Daniela Barros & Joao Melo Costa: Fashion Scout

The Portugal show was very sleek and minimal in my opinion; Daniela Barros started off with mostly monochrome pieces which fell beautifully, there were wide leg trousers and boxy structured tops and although all were modest there was always a little something to make it look a little more sexy, like the hint of flesh shown in the first photo - I love that simple detailing and think it works really well with such a simple look. Shortly followed by Joao Melo Costa who still kept things quite monochrome and classic but there was a little more going on with his prints - the most used being a slight geometric print (I want to say it looks like a bee hive). There was a lot of navy in both their collections which makes a subtle alternative to the typical black we see so often.

I also thought I'd share some quick street style snaps I've found or been tagged in over the last couple of days from Day 1. I can't express how exciting it is to be spotted somewhere - it makes me so happy!
