I was in Paris last weekend and spent it at Hotel Lumen, a short walk from the Louvre in the 1st arrondissment - having never stayed in this area I was looking forward to being somewhere new for a small change (Paris is quite small so wherever you are you can pretty much get everywhere).
I could have easily dedicated this post to the bathroom, I think the bathroom alone makes me want to live in this hotel, talk about #BathroomGoals. I was also impressed with the toiletries, Hermès body lotion? I didn't even know that was a thing haha! Needless to say it was the perfect place for a pamper in the bathroom dreams are made of. Not sure how much more I can say about a bathroom before it gets completely ridiculous...
The room itself was simple, small but simple, with two large windows which opened up onto the balcony facing the ever so picturesque Parisian streets. This was the first room I've stayed in where the double bed was actually a double bed; usually they're made up of two singles pushed together so it was a pleasant change and definitely made the night's sleep more comfortable. Annoyingly though there was only one working channel on the TV, which didn't bother me too much but could be annoying for anybody who likes to chill out watching TV. Early next morning, I went downstairs for breakfast which was the typical continental breakfast - oh so Parisian - there was also a small option for a hot breakfast, including scrambled eggs and bacon. The staff were lovely, very polite and all spoke English (which believe it or not has been quite difficult to find in some of the other hotels I've stayed in).
