FOTD: March Beauty Buys (& Wishlist)

I'm hoping everybody is familiar with the term, FOTD, it's a well loved hashtag on Instagram so I can only assume that it's well known in the blogosphere - but if not, FOTD = face of the day. So today's post is all about my recent video which was my March Beauty Buys and I put together this post to show you a few of the products in action (i.e. on my face) and to get to know what you think!

Makeup in the above photo:

(Most of what I wore is featured in the video, but there are a few extras: the eyeshadow, eyeliner, powder (sandstorm), and lip gloss).

The name of this video was definitely a deceiving one - none of the items I mentioned were actually bought in March haha - but I wanted to share with you some of my most recent purchases and thought a video was the best way to do so. I'd rather spend my money buying clothes than buying makeup but a girl wants what a girl wants.

I don't often go out and buy makeup because whenever I pop into Boots or Superdrug for a one thing I end up coming out with way more than I had expected (damn you beauty bloggers!) as well as shedding a tear over how much I've spent. I can never really justify spending a lot of money on makeup, hence why I've never even bought myself a MAC lipstick, I think you can always find some alternatives; before my best friend bought me MAC's Ruby Woo for my birthday, my all-time favourite red was a £1 shade from MUA! So there you go.

But anyway, here are a few of the makeup bits I've been buying. Ironically, some are on the pricey side in my opinion, but let me explain, my boyfriend epically failed at the whole gift thing for Christmas so long story short, he owed me and I convinced him to buy me some beauty bits - he was shocked and definitely unhappy about having spent so much on a few beauty products but I was happy I got some things I probably wouldn't have bought myself.

Here's what I bought:

Someone introduce me to the girl, or guy, who is ever happy with what they already have? When it comes to makeup (and clothes) I don't think you can ever have enough! So with that in mind, here's my beauty wishlist including some latest releases and some more luxury items that I wouldn't completely be opposed to if someone bought me haha dropping hints and it's not even my birthday.

Currently on my beauty wishlist:

What have been your beauty buys of the month?

  1. Your hair, eyes and lips all look gorgeous! It's true that some makeup is very expensive, but that doesn't always mean it's better. It's really nice that your boyfriend bought you lovely beauty bits you yearned for. I just watched your March Beauty Buys | Peexo - YouTube video. I like how you compared the different mascaras and concealers. Urban Decay Naked palettes are certainly well known. I also liked your Date Outfit Ideas | Peexo - YouTube video. Those chips looked tasty and you looked great in all your outfits.
I haven't made any beauty buys this month, but my favourites so far have been the Master Kit from elf eyeslipsface, the anti-aging kit from Devita. All the (expensive) vegan brushes from Urban Decay look nice and I like the look of their Electric palette. I like the colours of the lip tars from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics but I think they take skills that I don't have to apply.

  2. Agreed, there are so many good dupes out there. I have never bought myself a Mac lipstick either and my first one was a gift too! And I can't walk in Boots either without doing a full on makeup haul, it's the 3 for 2 offers that get me! :D

    1. I thought I was the only one! Somehow having one shade hasn't pushed me to buying any more so I'm pretty pleased with myself haha! Who doesn't fall for the Boots trap?! X

  4. I totally agree you can get most makeup items in Boots and Superdrug that are often just as good if not better than some high end brands. Foundation wise (shade) it can get a bit tricky... Your eyebrows are amazing by the way!

    1. You often pay for the brand rather than the product so it's worth looking around for in my opinion. Thank you so much aha! X

  5. I've found some really good drugstore dupes of high end beauty products and they're just as good. Your makeup looks so good by the way! x
