The sales are pretty EPIC this year and these are my top picks...

Every year I try to come up with different gift ideas (which is a challenge in itself because I've been sharing Gift Guides for 5 years now) that I think guys like my dad, boyfriend and friends would love to open up on Christmas Day. This year I have a huge variety of gift ideas ranging from the classic grooming gifts to the fun novelty gifts. I've got gift ideas to hopefully suit everyone!

Earlier this week I turned 25 and to celebrate, I planned a weekend getaway in the countryside with a group of friends. I have wanted to plan a small countryside escape for the longest time and I thought my birthday was the perfect excuse to do so! I found a beautiful modern cottage in a small village in Kent for us to spend my birthday weekend and I just really want to share what we got up to and some photos of our weekend getaway.

monthly recap october 2019Affiliate links are marked with [*] and gifted items marked with [gifted].

The last 3 months of the year are always my favourite! Sadly this month has literally been flooded with rain which has made autumn, my favourite season, a pretty wet and miserable one so far. However, there is so much to look forward to in the lead up to Christmas making October, November and December usually my favourite months of the whole year! I'm actually one of those crazy people who prefers winter over summer (I know, I know...) So, here's what I've been up to this month.

3 October 2019

monthly recap september 2019Affiliate links are marked with [*] and gifted items marked with [gifted].

Honestly, HOW is it already October?! September literally flew by. I'm excited for pumpkin season and for things to really start feeling autumnal. We had so much rain and dreary weather throughout September so I'm ready for the crisp autumn mornings, cold breeze and sunshine. So here's a recap of the past month including what I've been watching on TV, the books I've been reading, the inspirational accounts I've been following on Instagram and other life things!

My favourite season is here! It feels bittersweet to be saying hello to autumn and goodbye to summer; I have tried my best to not wish the summer away but I can't help feel the excitement for a new season. Autumn is my favourite season for fashion: the ability to begin layering pieces and mix and match dresses with boots and coats with bare legs is magical. In celebration of the new season, I'm sharing three autumn trends to follow now, what to buy and where.

monthly recap august 2019 portugalAffiliate links are marked with [*] and gifted items marked with [gifted].

What. A. Month. August is mostly put aside for travel and this year, I spent just shy of 4 weeks away on holiday in Portugal with my family which was so lovely! In previous years I've let the fear and worry of work take over and I was at a point where I became quite scared of being away from home because I worried that my content would plummet as a result. This year I decided to just let it go - which is easier said than done admittedly - and I couldn't be more pleased with how the month went.

The time has come and my annual summer trip to Portugal is right around the corner, I'm heading off this weekend! I spend every summer in Portugal with my family and have done for the past 24 years (literally my whole life) it's sort of like a family tradition. I'm very fortunate to still be able to spend such a large chunk of my summer abroad and I'm looking forward to jetting off. So I thought I'd put together a blog post chatting a bit about what I have planned for my trip and the next four weeks away!

Haul month, heat wave week, £295 for a Canon G7 X mark ii (thank you Amazon Warehouse) and friendships in this industry. The month of July has gone by strangely fast and I've been counting down the days for my summer holiday as I'm heading to Portugal at the end of the week, at last! As always, I have a monthly update for you. Filled with my rambles and thoughts over the past month. I honestly love writing these blog posts but sometimes I really do feel like they're just a load of word vom haha!

Hello heatwave! How unreal has the weather in London been this week?! I can't quite believe it. Admittedly, I'm not a big fan of intense heat like this in the capital but it has definitely added to my excitement levels for my upcoming holiday. One thing I've been really loving throughout the heatwave is light, neutral, white outfits. I've completely fallen for whites and nudes this summer and in this blog post, I wanted to chat a little bit about how I've been styling my all white outfits this season and a few tips on how to wear white.

So many of my friends often spend the year longing for summer but I've never been that person, much preferring the crisp Autumn days and cool Winter months to the unbearable heat of the summer. Although last year I saw a complete change in myself and my surroundings throughout the summer months and now that I come to think of it, it's actually something that I definitely missed as the days got shorter and nights got longer. With summer finally here and the weather heating up at last, I wanted to do some reminiscing over summer 2018 and what it taught me.

monthly recap june 2019This post contains affiliate links marked with [*].

Quite frankly, this month has flown by. I sat down to write a couple of blog posts for the month (so as to trick myself in to thinking I didn't go completely awol) and realised that actually, it's the last week of June and both my monthly recap and payday wishlist are imminent! I'm surprised by how long it's been since I last typed up anything for my blog. I think it's the change in season: not knowing what to wear and not knowing what to write about leads me in to this rabbit hole of 'I don't know what to create' and then, one month later, here we are. So, what have I been up to then?

In keeping with my current Friday wishlists and roundups on my blog - the Payday Wishlist is going to be a new monthly occurrence. I'm always online, hunting down the best gems so I thought it was about time I start sharing my finds more frequently with you. I've been doing more specific roundups weekly, focusing on a current trend or something I've seen a lot of on the high street, but these monthly wishlists will include a little bit of everything so I hope you enjoy them! Let me know which of these picks are your favourites, and if you end up purchasing anything too!

Well, May has been a rollercoaster of a month. I took a week off Instagram and to be honest, I still have a bucket load of thoughts surrounding the app but I speak about it so much that I feel like I need a break from speaking about it now! It's been a bit of a weird month so I have lots of thoughts and babbles to share so here's a little recap of my month.

My favourite accessories have simply got to be layers and layers of jewellery, gold jewellery. I've always favoured a gold finish over silver which I think is purely down to personal preference but there's something about shimmering gold that puts the finishing touch on all of my outfits whatever the weather. I wanted to share some of my current favourite jewellery as well as some pieces that I have my eye on and would love to add to my own collection.

Garden parties, weddings and christenings - just a few of the occasions that pop up more often when the sun starts to shine and the weather gets warmer. If, like me, you try to avoid wearing jeans as often in the spring time, it can be difficult to find the perfect replacement for jeans and a nice top which is a go-to for so many of us throughout winter. So this is my take on an alternative option for spring.

Strappy sandals are everywhere right now. If you ask me, they're the IT girl of the shoe world this spring and after spending hours online, perusing some of my favourite high street brands for the best pairs you can buy right now, I have a wishlist as long as my arm! I've compiled my favourites in this blog post so you can take your pick... I'll take all of the strappy shoes please. In every. single. colour.

i signed off instagram for a weekThis post contains affiliate links marked with [*] and gifted items marked with [gifted].

I took a week away from social media. A proper week away, where I simply signed out and didn't constantly check up on my Instagram likes and follower count. It's crazy how often I still gravitated towards the app and was greeted with the login page as opposed to new notifications and a feed full of images to lust over. I knew I needed to take a break from social media because I kept feeling a huge wave of uncertainty pour over me every time I opened up Instagram and I was starting to dread it.

Things have been pretty quiet around here recently... I did that thing where I try to increase my content schedule across platforms but then can't keep up (why does this always happen?!) So I guess I took an unintentional break from blogging but of course I have a monthly update for you, as always. Here's a low down on what's been going on this month.

Hair accessories are a big hit this spring/summer and I'm a convert. Pearls, pastels, resin, tortoiseshell - whatever extra your outfit requires, add it in your hair! Whether you're layering up your favourite hair clips for a statement style or you're throwing on a headband for ease, take a pick of my favourite hair accessories on the high street right now for a spring twist.

winter moments on 35mm film

I finally got my film from January-February developed (I don't know why it always takes me so long to get my film cameras developed) these are a mix of photos from our trip to Scotland and a few extra snaps from Copenhagen too! Every time I pick up a new set of photos taken on film I get so excited and I really don't think the excitement will wear off any time soon. There's just something about these photos, even if a handful of them are of fingers covering the lens! I decided not to include any of those in this post though...

monthly recap march 2019This post contains affiliate links marked with [*].

I don't have a lot to say this month to be honest! I said this early on, when I first started these monthly recaps, some months there will be a lot I want to talk about (like in Febaury, read my blog post: February 2019) and in other months there will be very little to talk about, like this month. So here's what's been happening this month...

Spring! So Spring has officially begun and even the weather has caught up at last! I'm so ready for a season of sunshine filled days and warm weather. I'm a huge lover of Autumn/Winter and rarely ever wish it away but this year it seems to have really dragged on and I'm so happy spring is here! I've curated a wishlist for the season, filled with gorgeous skirts and dresses that I can't wait to wear over the next few months. I hope these help inspire you and your spring wardrobe.

Truth be told, I've never been a morning person. I thought this would change the older I got but I think it just keeps getting worse! If I don't get enough sleep then I'll spend the day in a pretty bad mood so I'm really trying to improve both my evening and morning routines in a bid to wake up in a brighter mood.

I took a trip to Copenhagen with two of my girl friends last weekend for a little weekend city break. We did a lot of exploring in the sun, cold, wind and rain (we literally had a bit of every season!) whilst devouring an array of Danish pastries for good measure. I took the time to switch off from social media for a bit and travelled with no electronics other than my phone - my suitcase felt incredibly light for a change - and so these are some of the snaps from our trip taken from my iPhone!

I spend so much time scrolling through ASOS (honestly, more time than I care to admit) and I've come to notice that there are definitely some brands that I gravitate towards the most. I often find the same set of brands filling up my saved items and I've also started to search for these brands whilst browsing ASOS which isn't something I usually do - it can only be a good thing! I thought I'd share my favourite brands with you as well as some of my current top picks from their collections.

5 current beauty favouritesThis post contains affiliate links marked with [*] and gifted items marked with [gifted].

I filmed my monthly favourites yesterday which always makes me look back on the beauty products I've tried: the ones I've really loved and the ones I haven't been so impressed by. This month was a real struggle to find new beauty items to include as I feel like I've found some true staples of mine, products that I really love and revert to time and time again (or in some cases, just never stop using until they run out!) So I wanted to put together a little something on some newly discovered products from this year and I couldn't resist popping in a couple of old favourites too! I absolutely want to work on sharing more beauty on my blog so I hope you enjoy seeing more beauty popping up every now and again.

transitioning outfits from winter to springThis post contains affiliate links marked with [*] and gifted items marked with [gifted].

After a glorious weekend filled with sunshine, I've been absolutely besotted with the idea that spring is right around the corner. As an autumn/winter lover, I feel as though I'm cheating with spring but I've never been so excited for a new season to grace us. I've been thinking about my style and what I'll be wearing throughout the spring and despite wanting to prance around in skirts and dresses from now on, it's still a little bit too cold for full on spring looks. So I've been layering up and transitioning my style from winter, ready for spring!

why I'm not that bothered about fashion weekThis post contains affiliate links marked with [*] and gifted items marked with [gifted].

Today marks the start of another season at London Fashion Week and another season that I'm not that bothered about. A few years ago I craved being in attendance and would spend weeks emailing in requests for show tickets and backstage passes but that desire has somewhat disappeared. I've found that the opportunities are so scarce for bloggers. The 5 days spent running around London aren't as glamorous as you may think and honestly, I've never been that interested in high fashion (which is why I always feel a like a bit of an imposter when I use the label fashion blogger to describe my role).

One of my favourite things to do in the winter is to run myself a bath and give myself a proper pamper from head-to-toe. The winter months are so rough on our skin and on our minds so allowing yourself to switch off one evening is just the best thing you can do for yourself. Whether that be with a full on pamper session or something a little less intense like switching off your phone and laptop  early and picking up a book instead. Here's what I like to do to unwind in the winter in a few easy steps.

what not to wear skiing This post contains affiliate links marked with [*] and gifted items marked with [gifted].

Despite not going to Scotland deliberately to ski, we did spend one morning at Glencoe Mountain Ski Resort and OMG it was cold! Obviously I knew it would be cold, the temperatures were pretty low in Scotland anyway but once you're up on the mountain, it's ten times colder - or at least it feels that way. Like I said, we didn't go to ski so I wasn't about to splash out on ski gear for a few hours up on the mountain so I packed thermals, jumpers and fleece lined boots and leggings and despite feeling toasty throughout the day - it just wasn't the same on Glencoe Mountain. Although I did really love what I wore, it probably wasn't the most appropriate clothing... but that's pretty much the story of my life, constantly dressing inappropriately for the weather what can I say.

what to do in scotlandThis post contains affiliate links marked with [*] and press samples.

I'm back from a mini trip to Scotland! Less than a week away but so many photos to go through! As always, first on my radar are the photos I took on my iPhone - I guess it's because I'm always flicking through them on my phone so I have a rough idea of what I want to share and post. My boyfriend and I got back late Sunday night, I've spent most of the day unpacking (because I managed to fill my suitcase with 22kg worth of stuff for a 5 day trip) and spent the rest of the day filtering through a huge number of photos from the trip which you should be seeing more of soon.

valentine's day wishlistThis post contains affiliate links.

Hello February! We're officially in the second month of the year and whether you're a fan of the occasion or not, Valentine's Day is fast approaching. I've been saving things in a wishlist for a while, I think since mid-January when I first started spotting pieces online and in-store. I absolutely adore all of the Valentine's Day inspired clothing and accessories, anything pink, anything red and if it's embezzled with hearts then even better! I wanted to share my wishlist for any of you who want to use the day as an excuse to do some shopping. I don't know about you, but I'll take any excuse!

29 January 2019

january 2019 monthly update peexo

At the end of each month I want to do a roundup post. I've been wanting to start on this for the longest time but I just haven't really known the best way to go about it if I'm being completely honest. I really think blogging is so hard at the moment and if you're not sharing the next big thing or some epic tips and tricks then it's pretty hard to stand out. I don't know about you but I don't really read blogs as often as I used to and I'm sure there are many other people who feel the same way. I want to fall back in love with blogging and so I just want to write more.

27 January 2019

why I started blogging vs. why I blog now
There's no doubt that the blogging world has changed so much since it first began. Even just during the 5 years I've been blogging, the changes have been huge and it continues to change every day. There are times when I don't really know where I fit in in the blogosphere anymore which is quite daunting admittedly but one thing I do know is just how much I enjoy it. Today marks 5 years since I first hit publish, I remember being so scared about sharing my first post and if you were to tell me back then that a few years later it would be my full time job... well, I probably would have laughed but here we are.

25 January 2019

styling tiger print dress day-to-night

I bought a new dress. An impulse buy if I'm being completely honest. Last week I had an event to go to which involved dinner and I wanted something nice to wear. Naturally, when I opened up my wardrobe and looked at my options - I instantly succumbed to the "I have nothing to wear" phase and just as quickly opened up my laptop to browse online for the perfect outfit for the evening. I bought a few options and labelled this dress as a maybe thinking it probably wouldn't look nice on and I wasn't even sure if I really liked it! I completely surprised myself by just how much I loved it and so I wanted to share a couple of the ways I've styled it so far, taking it from day time to night time.

22 January 2019

snow ski wishlist

I've never been skiing before but I'm heading to Scotland next week to visit my auntie and uncle and we've decided to head to a few ski resorts whilst I'm there. I've been searching for everything from ski base layers to heavy duty winter boots for the trip and whilst I don't think I'll be doing a whole lot of skiing, I'm really excited for a few days in the snow! In 2014, we went to the Glenshee Ski Resort and I learnt the hard way that warm layers are essential. I naively thought that wearing a pair of tights under my jeans would be enough to keep me warm in the snow but boy was I wrong... This year I plan on being well and truly prepared for the cold weather and here are some things I have my eye on!

18 January 2019

film photography

I bought my first disposable camera last year for my summer holiday in Portugal after seeing so many people trialling film photography. I didn't go for anything fancy, I literally just bought a couple of cheap disposable cameras from Amazon (I bought the Fujifilm Quick Snap) and I absolutely loved the photos I took. The whole process of taking a photo and not knowing what it will look like until it is developed makes it all so exciting! It took me a while to get mine developed over the summer but once I did, it felt like I was reliving my holiday all over again which I loved. I really want to make an effort to use film cameras so much more!

15 January 2019

2019 travel plans

January is supposed to be one of the most popular months for booking holidays, it seems we're all struck with the January blues and itching to get away! I wouldn't say I have the travel bug but I definitely enjoy the time off (or time away I should say as I don't think I ever really take time off from work ever). Somehow I've ended up booking two trips so far this year and as if that wasn't enough, I'm also heading on a snowy getaway later on in the month! So 2019 is quickly filling up with travel plans which has been completely unexpected.

10 January 2019

reducing fast fashion consumption

This is such a tricky topic for me if I'm being completely honest but I want to try and do better. The thing is, with this job comes a lot of new stuff: new clothes, new shoes, new equipment, new tech - there's a lot of new items I talk about because that's a huge part of what I do. Equally, I'm becoming more and more aware of the impact this has on the environment and fast fashion in general so it's something I'm aiming to think about more throughout 2019. This year is all about trial and error for me, just trying to better my shopping habits in a way that still allows my content to be appealing.

8 January 2019

2018 instagram statistics
Happy New Year! We're officially in 2019 and I don't know about you, but I'm counting this week as the first week back (last week was a trial run!) I've been working on some content for the new year and high up on my list was to share my year on Instagram so that's what today's post is all about. 2018 was a really good year of growth for me on the platform, practically doubling my following from 27.7k at the start of the year to 54.7k by the end, and despite not having any tips or tricks to share - what I do have is a detailed look at my year on Instagram: my top performing photos, the rise (and fall) of my following monthly and a few things I've noticed along the way. Whether you want to learn more about Instagram or simply have a nosey at what happened throughout the year for me, then I hope this post is insightful.
