SHOP THE POST:

Silver isn't my metallic of choice, if ever I had to choose between silver or gold, I'd always choose gold. That being said, for some reason I've really embraced silver this season! I think it's a festive thing, I'm really excited for Christmas and NYE this year (I think that's the final year university student, who just wants to see these December deadlines over, talking) so I've been embracing all things remotely festive, as well as using the festivities as an excuse to do more shopping than I should be doing for myself at this time of year...

Although silver can appear to be a difficult colour to wear I've really embraced it in my wardrobe. Following on from my previous post where I wore a gorgeous embroidered silver biker jacket (sounds crazy I know but trust me, it works!) this time, I chose some silver accessories to add into the mix. If you're a bit unsure about wearing such a statement colour I'd start off by choosing some shoes; I went for silver ankle boots because they're simply a staple in my wardrobe, and I'm already comfortable wearing them on a daily basis, meaning I know how to style ankle boots so this didn't seem too daunting.

I wore a pretty standard outfit really, my skinny mom jeans (are you sick of seeing them yet?) and a top. To show you how not-scary silver is I picked out a floral top from Closet which I love way more than I thought I would, it's got a zipped collar which I've seen popping up a lot recently and I'm a fan, what about you? My final touch of silver was of course this gorgeous bag from River Island, it's mixed metal with both silver and gold added in the mix which I absolutely love, it means I can mix things up with my jewellery too (silver hoops and gold watch in case you hadn't noticed). I'm certain this bag will be a staple of mine for the party season. And that's how simple it can be to experiment with something new like silver pieces!

  1. I so want your top! It'd look SO nice with a turtle neck underneath it! Loving the silver touches too!
