5 Things I'm Looking Forward To This Autumn

peexo 5 things I'm looking forward to this autumn
Oh, Autumn. I bloody love this season! Cue the flurry of new knitwear picks (because who can resist the pull of new knitwear), falling leaves, crisp mornings and long autumn strolls. We're a few weeks in to the season and I'm just so excited about what's to come this autumn. Admittedly, these photos were taken a couple of weeks ago and so they're potentially not the most autumnal... for some reason, I doubt I'll be reaching for my open-toe sandals for much longer. But the leaves were beginning to fall and my knitwear made its first appearance which I think is pretty autumnal if you ask me! Today I wanted to share my love of this season and five things I'm looking forward to.

1. Autumn Walks

Is there anything better than an autumnal stroll? I love the crisp cold air and not to mention the gorgeous sunshine we've been graced with over the past few weeks that makes a walk in the park literally a walk in the park. I've even still been getting wear out of my sunglasses thanks to this sunshine which is the absolute dream!

Now is the perfect time to head to your nearest park for an autumn walk, take in the surroundings and breathe in the fresh air. I personally love long walks through Hyde Park - it's one of my favourite parks in London - followed by a quick pit stop in a coffee shop for something warm to keep you going makes for the perfect weekend plan.

2. Outerwear

It's been the longest time since I last wore a jacket, coat, or any sort of outerwear for that matter. I've spotted so many lovely pieces in some of my favourite high street stores already including faux fur and shearling, checked and patterned, longline and cropped - I'm surprised I haven't come home with them all! Instead, I've been adding blazers to my wardrobe as well as cardigans in the lead up to the colder months. And ok, I'll admit, I have already given in and bought a few new coat additions which I can't wait to wear more of but I'm equally excited to bring out some of my favourite coats from last year! Although I'm happy to wait a little while longer until the harsh cold sets in.

3. Crunchy Leaves

Prepare to see autumn leaves in 90% of my content from now until the end of autumn! I'm such a cliché when it comes to autumnal scenes and every time I see a bunch of leaves nearby I automatically run over to them - what can I say, I told you I'm a cliché. I'm now patiently waiting for some of my favourite spots in London to transform into the most perfect autumn settings.

A couple of my favourite places to visit in London in the autumn are Kynance Mews and Regent's Park - both look their absolute best throughout autumn in my opinion. The paths in Regent's Park lined with trees get a warm rust makeover and Kynance Mews becomes draped in warm red leaves. I'm excitedly waiting for the transformation so I can head over!

4. Burning Candles

I've been itching to light some candles for the past few weeks (if I'm being completely honest, as soon as I got back from my summer holiday spent in Portugal I was ready to burn a candle - and that was in August!) I have somehow managed to refrain from burning any candles too soon but I'm finally ready for all the cosy vibes and autumnal smells let off by my favourite candles.

5. Coming In From The Cold

I wasn't quite sure how to explain this one but I love the feeling of walking in to a warm coffee shop or returning to a cosy home after being in the breezy outdoors. There's just something so comforting about this, it's like walking in to a big hug from the outside! Although it often takes time to adjust to the changing temperatures, I quite like the feeling at the moment where it's chilly outside and walking in to a warm room just feels so nice. It's the simple autumn pleasures.
