Beautytrix

My aim with this blog is to focus on fashion/personal style posts during the week but on Sunday's I want to do something a little out of my comfort zone and that's where the beauty & lifestyle aspects will come in. I've done this for the past two weeks (you can see those posts here and here) and feel it's gone down well; it's good to share something a little different, and of course, whatever I do I'll be wearing clothes so there will always be a fashion aspect in the majority of my posts...

I'd never call my blog a beauty blog because I feel I know so little about beauty-related products. I only started to experiment and buy make-up around 2 years ago and I still don't do the whole foundation routine daily (partly because I don't feel I need to and I just don't want to - I'm too lazy to spend hours perfecting my make-up to be completely honest). But one thing I do love is mascara; I'd say the first products I ever bought were a concealer and mascara.

I'm one of those people who is always piling on the mascara, I wear a good 50 layers of different mascaras which I know isn't great for your lashes but mine are SO short! I would do anything for naturally long lashes but unfortunately I'm not lucky enough to have been blessed with them and have super short ones instead so I'm always willing to try new mascaras and other eyelash products.

I received some beauty bits from a company called Beautytrix and three of those were mascaras from their Flirties range. Beautytrix are a beauty company which offer spray tans, lash enhancements, waxing, brow enhancements and so much more; as well as training courses for beauty enthusiasts across the UK. When it comes to retail products their most popular retail products are their Flirties range of mascaras and their Tantrix tanning products.

The three products I received from their Flirties range were Eye lash Enhancer Serum (super exciting!), Sealing Mascara and Volume-up Mascara.

Sadly, I don't live close to any of the Beautytrix therapists so I wasn't able to try their lash extensions but I decided to put the mascaras to use anyway! Both the mascaras are water based which is ideal for lash extensions but will work fine with natural lashes too. The volume-up mascara is a really nice natural looking mascara, with 2 coats on my natural lashes I thought they were long and separated giving my lashes a nice natural look. (Crazy eyebrows below - sorry).

I then really wanted to try the sealing mascara too but thought I'd need some lashses to try it out. So as I was getting ready to go out I was applying some fake eyelashes, the eylure naturalites in 101, and decided to give the sealing mascara a go. It's perfect for keeping your natural lashes close to the fake ones and works really well. I found that as I was taking the lashes and mascara off, the mascara stayed on my lashes as it's a semi-permanent mascara and lasts for 3 to 4 days (but don't worry, it's not impossible to take off). I definitely want to give it a go on its own and see how well it lasts on my lashes for more than a day!

I'm really excited about the Eye lash Enhancer Serum because it has some amazing reviews which you can see here. I've been using it for about a week now and can't wait to see the full results in a few weeks' time!

  7. I'm useless with makeup. I have so many products that have been given to me but I give up after a while. I wore eye shadow the other day for the first time in years and it actually didn't look that bad! Your eyelashes look lovely. Don't know what you're worried about! :)

    1. No problem! For a beauty company that specialises in mascaras etc. it's brilliant to give it a go as the results are most likely to be the best! I'm definitely impressed by them :) X
