The Chop

Sunday, 16 March 2014

You probably guessed by the name of this post, and if not, I'm sure you've guessed by this photo that this post is about my hair. Look at my super short hair! It's much shorter than I wanted it to be which always seems to happen to me whenever I go for a haircut for some reason. I had been putting off cutting my hair for so long, I think it was definitely at the longest length I've ever had it and needed to be cut so badly. So I went ahead and got it cut yesterday...

My hair is naturally straight but because it's much shorter than I'm used to I decided to curl it slightly for a wavy look. I think it's the perfect way to style shorter hair, it looks so chic with a hat on too. I posted a photo of how I styled it with my fedora on Instagram here.

I'm actually really excited to style my shorter hair in different ways, I'm going to start looking for some short hair inspiration but it won't be too long (I hope) until my hair is back to being long. I never tend to stick to a particular length of hair, I either let it grow out for what seems like forever and when I finally decide to cut it I get it cut too short, when will I learn? I guess it's great for experimenting with new looks!

As you may or may not know I usually take all my outfit photos on a weekend one after the other so there are still a couple of outfit posts with my longer hair, so don't be surprised if in Tuesday's post I have short hair and in Thursday's post it's long again haha. I still have a few long-haired posts to come!

I'm wearing a navy ribbed H&M crop top, gold New Look hoops, gold H&M rings and a cute floral River Island necklace. Oh, you may have noticed all the little white hairs on my top! I tried to take a selfie with my cat and all his fur rubbed off on my jumper.. and the selfie was rubbish too; look at how grumpy he looks haha!

    1. It's slightly longer when it's straight but I think it just looks an awkward length.. the curls make it a bit shorter but I prefer the way it looks! Thank you :) X

  4. Lovely hair! I always add a bit of texturising spray to my hair or pin back little sections off my face for a non-fuss look :) xx

  8. It looks so lovely! I've recently had mine chopped off too and having fun trying out different things. I've found a shorter messy fishtail plait looks cute!

    1. Definitely easier to deal with haha but harder to style I think, I don't like how it looks straight (my natural hair type) but no way I'll be bothered to curl it everyday. Need inspiration! X

  13. So lucky you suit short and long hair! That cat is so cute!
I think the curls for short hair works really well, i guess you could try really tight ringlets or maybe like a 1920's style! =)
