I've been blogging for around 2 years and a half but recently I have found myself stuck in a rut. Since first writing about my ever changing love/hate relationship with Instagram in a post titled why I've fallen out of love with Instagram, I thought things would change having finally put my thoughts out in the open but things haven't really changed. I can't quite put my finger on it, I don't know what has led to this lack of motivation and generally feeling uninspired to blog. I've found that these days fashion bloggers have really upped their game, a post can no longer simply be about what you're wearing but there has to be a riveting story behind it or a gripping title to rope people in to visiting your blog. In all honesty, that's just not my style. For me it's always been about sharing what I'm wearing and just a pure love for it, I don't have an adventure to write about in every post and I don't mind that but the thought that other people may think I'm not trying hard enough or working hard enough because of it makes me feel uneasy about it all.

I think I've done really well in terms of keeping my blog going, especially considering I have spent this year between London and France, it's truly draining. I mentioned earlier on in the year that as much as I love blogging I needed to slow down which I have done and I'm glad I did. I felt like I needed to blog every weekday, which was a schedule I created for myself, and when I didn't I was really tough on myself about it. Without a doubt the worst thing you can do in situations like these is to compare yourself to others and of course, that's exactly what I've been doing which obviously hasn't helped at all!

After months without shooting I finally dedicated last Friday for a blog shoot, I have to admit I wasn't prepared (which is never a good thing) but we powered through and shot 6 outfits, we even squeezed in a lifestyle post too which I'm very happy about and can't wait to share with you soon! I'm hoping this will be the start of more frequent shooting and the revival of my little old blog, I wouldn't want my space on the internet to die down. Despite all the uneasiness towards blogging and Instagram recently, one thing I have been loving is YouTube (I'm peexo vlogs on there by the way!) and that's the first time it's ever happened! YouTube was my least favourite platform because I felt like I wasn't good enough but recently it's been my favourite to post on. I've started uploading twice weekly which has led to a small boost in subscribers and it's incredible to see growth however small it may be; I love the creativity behind YouTube so I've really enjoyed creating content for my channel.

So I guess there always is a silver lining, I'm putting a lot of effort into my YouTube channel at the moment and I can see results which is really pushing me to continue. I'm hoping the same will happen with blogging now that I've been shooting more content. I thought it'd be fitting that this post come alongside some of the first photos from my most recent shoot, I'm looking forward to sharing more!

  2. I totally agree with what you said about bloggers having some fascinating story behind outfit posts nowadays, but to be truthful, I hate reading those types of posts! I love the simple, straight to the point "here's what I'm wearing and here's where it's from" posts without all the unnecessary nonsense! I hope your love for blogging comes back soon!

    1. That's exactly like me! Well I just don't have much to say in all honesty but I've always loved the photography aspect of blogging more so than the writing. I'm really hoping to comes back, trying to start afresh this week and hoping for the best! X

  3. I love your blog/instagram! I appreciate that you're honest about it all. I haven't been blogging for long and it's more of a hobby, but I definitely understand the comparison feeling amongst other things. Keep doing what you're doing and I'm sure you'll find the love and passion for it again :) Rianna xx

    1. Oh thank you Rianna, that's so lovely! I think it starts out as a hobby for all of us, it's still a hobby for me but I can't help comparing myself to others and feeling down about it but I think I'm getting back on track now (finger's crossed) X

  4. There are sometimes expectations but overall just do what you love and how you like to do it! Having your own space on the internet means you have a choice in what you post and how you create things. Don't let the forced expectations affect you as much! I've always thought your content was amazing and still is :)

    1. So true, that's why it can be so negative to compare yourself to others. This week has been a good week in terms of content so I hope to continue to post regular content like I used to, I'm enjoying it! X

  5. I don't feel like I've quite got my blogging mojo yet. I don't have anyone to take pictures and I really struggle to write content I'm happy with. For what it's worth, I look at your blog and social media channels as examples of what I'm aiming for, I really like the balance you have between writing enough about what you're wearing / doing and why, but not so much it's an essay every time you post! Hope you get you mojo back with the new shoot and videos. x

    1. It can always be difficult getting started, it definitely takes time to find your mojo for sure. That's so incredible to hear, thank you! I think shooting new content always helps with how I'm feeling towards blogging in general and can be all I really need to get back into it - hope you enjoy my upcoming posts! X
