5 Reasons Why You Should Experiment With Colour

5 ways to add colour spring style peexo
Adding colour to my wardrobe has been one of the best things I've done so far this spring, I love how much of a difference wearing a bright colour like yellow or red (two of my current favourites) can make.

I recently got this red mini skirt from New Look and completely fell *heart eye emoji* head over heels for it (so much so that I have it in pink too!) it got me thinking just how much I've loved adding bright pops of colour into my wardrobe, so today I'm sharing 5 reasons why you should too.

1. Stepping out of your comfort zone can make you more confident

With blogging and social media in general comes a whole new aspect of sharing your life on the internet to ultimately, a group of strangers online (sounds really weird put like that!) People can be mean online and I've found that out the hard way but people can also have a huge impact on you positively. When I first started experimenting with my style and adding pops of colour I got an overwhelmingly positive response and it has made me feel more confident without a doubt.

2. It's on trend

Whilst I don't think you should buy something purely down to the fact it's on trend, if you happen to be interested in fashion/street style or if you simply like clothes then trends generally do tend to have a big impact. I'm not an advocate for buying into trends, especially if you're not really into it, but if you are looking to try something new then adding colour has been one of my favourite trends recently.

3. There's SO much on the high street right now

Reason 2 and 3 go hand in hand, when something is on trend it's literally plastered everywhere, I've had no issues adding colour to my wardrobe because it's just all over the place! As bright coloured clothing is so accessible at the moment I'm always finding new inspiration when walking into shops and seeing what's hanging in the new in rails, I've had no problem finding pieces I love and want to buy.

4. It's easy to implement

The prospect of adding colour can sometimes seem daunting, especially if you're a colour-free kinda girl (I'm looking at you #AllBlackEverything crew) but adding a pop of colour doesn't mean dressing in every colour of the rainbow from head-to-toe. Adding colour to your outfits can be as easy as accessorising, add a bright coloured bag to an all black look and that's it, you've updated your style for spring. If you're slightly more daring then choose a coloured jacket or top to mix and match with other pieces that are currently in your wardrobe.

5. It's fun

I've loved experimenting with colour over the past few weeks, it's helped me feel more inspired when planning outfits and has given me loads of outfit ideas for spring. I definitely have my blog and Instagram to thank for that as I probably wouldn't have had the courage to step out of my comfort zone as often if it weren't for my platforms so I hope me sharing my style journey/experiments will inspire you to try new trends too!

  2. I'm normally one to stick to neutrals with my clothes, but I'm so glad this season it's all about colour - you're right, it is fun, and it's making putting outfits together so much more interesting at the minute! Love this outfit :)
