I am all for statement dressing and going for daring ensembles but sometimes I'm just not feeling a head-to-toe print or clashing colours, on days like those the easiest thing to do is to strip it all back with a block colour, I've picked black because it really is a timeless basic and we all have something black in our wardrobe. When I look at these photos the skirt really pops, it's a cute lil' number from JOY and it's a statement piece in its own right but worn with only one colour it becomes so eye-catching. I also love wearing these sock boots with skirts and dresses because of their tight fit, it could be just me but I bloody love the way they look!
I thought I had fallen out of love with leather jackets for quite some time but I have rekindled my love for them, I think Spring is the perfect time for a more lightweight jacket and a leather jacket (or biker jacket) has simply been my outerwear of choice. I love this one from River Island because the sleeves are elasticated, which at first I didn't love, but now that I'm wearing it with more lightweight tops and sleeveless numbers it makes all the difference.
