Eyelash Extensions with Beautytrix

Happy Easter Sunday! I hope you've all had a great long weekend so far and are looking forward to the Monday bank holiday too! Today's post is about my eyelash extensions, on Wednesday I was lucky enough to be treated to some eyelash extensions thanks to Beautytrix. I spoke about their Flirties range before in a blog post, here, and although I loved the products, they are specifically catered for people who have eyelash extensions. So, the best way for me to trial the products properly was to get eyelash extensions.. and I did!

I cannot begin to tell you how excited I have been counting down the days; I have the shortest eyelashes ever, I don't think they have any length, and I just feel so bare without any mascara. I visited Layla, who is situated in Purfleet at Get Nailed & Fake It, for my eyelash extensions and she was so lovely, she went through the different lashes I could get, how they would be applied and what I should expect as the result.

I had the option of lengthening lashes or volumising ones and funnily enough I chose volumising! Just because I thought if I could achieve a look without having to use mascara then that would be amazing, Layla also said these would be the most natural looking when the full set was put in. To achieve the volumised effect, around 3 to 4 individual lashes are stuck onto one of your own lashes unlike for added length, where only one false lash is applied to your natural one.

Here are some extra details about the Flirties false eyelashes. The lashes I got were the volume lashes, which are silk 0.07mm thickness and Layla used the 8-11mm in length. These are semi-permanent and because they are so thin (the classic lashes are 0.15 - 0.25 thick) more of them can be grouped together onto one of your own natural eyelashes giving the fuller effect.

These are my first eyelash extensions so I have nothing to compare them to in terms of price, feel and the way they look, but so far, I really can't seem to fault them at all! A full set of these ranges from between £60 to £90 because so many are used, around 200 individual eyelashes in total! You can then choose to have infills done, usually every 3 to 4 weeks, which cost around £30. This is to reapply and replace some lashes to maintain the full desired effect. Otherwise, they will naturally fall out in about 3 to 4 weeks which I think is pretty good!

I also have the products I was kindly given previously for eyelashes which should help to maintain the way they look for longer. This post is just a quick one about my experience and the results as I can't say much about the lashes yet, I've only had them for a few days! So I will get another post up about how I maintain them and how well and how long they last me. I keep waking up, looking in the mirror and thinking "I don't need to put on any mascara today" it's brilliant!

The process took about 1hr30, which probably sounds like a long time but honestly didn't feel like it, it was over sooner than I had expected and when I opened my eyes I couldn't believe the results!

A huge thank you to Britta for organising this for me, and to Layla (pictured) for doing my lashes!

Have you ever got eyelash extensions? What do you think of the results?
Leave me any comments below :)

  3. You look amazing!! I had eyelash extensions for my wedding and loved them, but they hurt when coming out so I've never been brave enough to have them again, but seeing how amazing you look I think I might :) x

    1. Oh really?! I was told the glue will start to weaken and they'll just begin to fall out - I hope it doesn't hurt :/ X

    2. HI Claire, they shouldn't hurt at all when they are taken out as a special debonder (remover) is used and you wont feel anything :O)

    1. All your friends must literally beg you to do them haha! I guess you understand a bit more when it comes to the lash details? Must be frustrating to not be able to do them to yourself though haha, it's an eyelash flaw! X

  9. I've wore these for about 2/3 years and will not go back!
As long as you don't pull on them, they won't harm your lashes.

    1. When I found out you can even swim in them I was sold (not that I'm doing much swimming in the UK haha) but I'm thinking of getting them done for the summer - no more panda eyes and perfect lashes even by the pool while on holiday? Yes please! X

  10. They look great, Im going to get them done just before I go to New York so I'm not having to worry about applying and taking mascara off.
Slightly worried that they will hurt now when coming out, so let me know (Im not a big fan of pain)
Do they feel any different on?

    1. It's the best thing! I will do another post in a few weeks' time to let you know how I got on with them, I don't think they should hurt so fingers crossed. I think they feel just like my normal lashes - it's only when I look in the mirror I remember I even have them haha! X

    2. No, you will be absolutely fine. Some lashes will shed naturally as your own lash falls out so will the extension and if you need to remove them it is done with a special remover which doesn't hurt at all. This is the beauty with semi permanent lash extensions where the extensions are applied to individual natural lashes which allows to infill without damaging or harming any of your lashes.
Unfortunately there is some other techniques which could harm your lashes so its worth doing a bit of research to ensure you get the right treatment.
If anyone wants me to check for their area if we have a therapist near you please message me or email beautytrix@beautytrix.me and I can check and recommend someone (if you are not near Layla, otherwise she would be the obvious choice!)

  11. Dear lovely friends

Now i want to say about the Lashe Beauty Parlour. Its really good. I hope you like it. It’s a very expensive glue; five times the cost of other glues on the market but it really does last longer than any other glue that I have found. This gives my clients much better value for money. It’s also great for me to work with as it has a very fast drying time, which means my clients don’t have to spend a couple of hours lying on a couch. See more at-: permanent eyelash extensions

    You are most welcome
