Getting Ready for an Evening In Paris

Paris, France
peexo paris travel makeup
Day-to-night makeup is tricky, it usually means I haven't had the chance to remove my makeup from the day and re-do it for the evening. When topping up my makeup I try to keep things quite simple and not be too heavy handed which I think can be very easily done when you don't have to do your full makeup routine and minor touchups can become hefty changes. I try to keep my overall look simple and here's how.

I've been using...

Elizabeth Arden, Prevage City Smart
I've been using this every day (when I wear makeup) since filming my First Impressions: New In Fashion & Beauty video which I shared earlier on in the month. If you've watched that video then you're probably aware of how surprised I was that this was coloured and I wasn't sure whether I was even using it correctly - having said that I'm still not entirely sure I've been using it correctly - I currently use this as a primer before applying my makeup.

Giorgio Armani, Luminous Silk Foundation (4.5)
I've come back to this foundation now that my tan has most definitely faded. Shade 4 is my winter shade but I'm still trying to get away with half a shade darker and a lot of bronzer so I don't look too pale and sad just yet. I love this foundation! It's not too heavy, blends beautifully and is just my go-to.

Too Faced, Born This Way Concealer (light and light warm)
This concealer has been going strong for so long! I have two shades so I've been able to use the duo for the past few months and they're great! Recently I've been using the lighter shade to brighten my under eyes and hide any obvious bags, and the slightly darker shade to cover any spots when they appear.

It Cosmetics, Brow Power
Earlier on in the year I fell in love with this brow pencil but then it finished and I didn't repurchase (mostly down to the fact I had others to try!) so when I got sent a mini version I was excited to re-introduce it into my makeup routine. It still blows my mind that it comes in one universal shade!

Browcote, Brow Gel
Another product that I've been using ever since filming my First Impressions video, I was so unsure about it at first but actually really like it. It doesn't make my brows sticky (which is something I hate) so that won me over instantly. I would say that now with more use it's definitely starting to feel more gloopy but I think it's a really great clear brow gel.

Urban Decay, Eyeshadow Primer Potion
Admittedly, this is the only eyeshadow primer I've ever tried - and owned I think - I'm not hugely into eyeshadow so I don't feel the need to have more than one. For a night out I add some of this and then pop on my eyeshadow to ensure it lasts all night.

Charlotte Tilbury, Eyeshadow Quad (vintage vamp)
This quad is just so gorgeous! Charlotte Tilbury has a few different quads which are all so gorgeous as you'd expect with the brand, this one has gorgeous deep purples and a fab pop of gold for nights out. It's the perfect size to pop in your travel bag and makes a day-to-night look easily achievable.

Charlotte Tilbury, Filmstar Bronze and Glow
A classic. The bronzer is gorgeous, quite strong so you really don't need to be heavy handed with it nor apply too much for a contoured and bronzed look day or night.

Bobbi Brown, Highlighting Powder (moon glow)
This is pretty new to me so I was itching to give it a go! In the palette it looks absolutely beautiful, it's an iridescent gold, looks stunning and screams festive season - seeing as it's a Christmas exclusive I think it fits the brief perfectly. On first impression I expected a little more from it but it's still really beautiful nonetheless.

Lancome, Monsieur Big Mascara
I'm all for longer lashes as opposed to voluminous ones but a few weeks ago I had a lash lift by Nouveau Lashes and it's made more of a difference than I first noticed. I haven't worn waterproof mascara in ages which has been a great break for my lashes and I've been trying new mascaras like this one which I've grown to love as a result!

M.A.C, Lipstick (mehr)
Whenever I get questions about the lipstick I'm wearing it's almost always Mehr by M.A.C. I love this shade, it's a pinky-nude and I think it really suits my skin tone. In 80% of my pictures you can be certain I'm wearing this lipstick.

Urban Decay, All Nighter Setting Spray
To finish things off for an evening look, I like to use a setting spray as I feel like it keeps all my makeup in place throughout the night.

I've been enjoying makeup recently and found some gems in my collection. I tend to stick to favourites once I've found them so I like to challenge myself when I travel by picking old favourites, newbies to try and admittedly some firm favourites do end up sneaking their way in too!
