Finding a Leather Jacket (coloured edition)

If you haven't guessed by the title of this post this is going to be about finding a leather jacket. Not just any leather jacket, a coloured leather jacket. If you follow me on Twitter you'll know that I have, quite literally, been hunting down a pastel pink one; I simply couldn't justify adding another leather jacket to my collection as I had 5 already..  well, now 6, haha somehow I always manage to justify things.. oops! So here's how I got on in my search for the perfect coloured piece...

I didn't want to spend a bucket load of cash as the pastel trend and coloured leather jackets may not be "in" or even considered fashionable by next spring/summer so making a huge investment just wasn't an option for me. Although when looking for a timeless black version then you can (and probably should) be willing to spend a little extra for the perfect one as it will never grow out of fashion and it's just a wardrobe necessity in my opinion.

I think we all know about the beautiful pastel pink and pastel blue leather jackets from Zara, which pretty much started this trend as far as I'm concerned but at almost £70 I couldn't commit. Although they are gorgeous jackets I found they were a bit stiff and I'm not too sure about whether or not I'm a fan of collarless leather jackets either.

£69.99 - Zara - Available in: Blue, Pink

I then saw loads of bloggers who managed to get their hands on the Primark version, the detailing on the shoulders is very similar to the Zara one and from what I gathered they were a hit, so much so that they pretty much instantly were sold out! I did try to get my hands on one but after visiting three very busy, very hectic London Primark's I simply gave up (I give up easily haha) - with Primark if you don't grab a good piece in it's early stages you've basically missed out.

£25 - Primark - Available in: Red, Pink, Blue, White
(I couldn't find a picture of the blue or the white but I know they exist haha)

I then happened to go to Pull & Bear during one of my, too many, shopping trips and saw more coloured leather jackets! Although these were in slightly darker shades they were still gorgeous. And if you're a fan of a collarless jacket then these could be a great Zara alternative; these ones are probably the best Zara dupes, they're almost identical in shape and the zip pockets and detailing is very similar too. They also had a huge range of colours available which was great!

£25.99 - Pull & Bear - Available in: White, Beige, Pink, Red, Blue

Finally, I was browsing through the Matalan website (I've never shopped there before but I spotted some lovely heels so decided to have a look online) and I came across a pink leather jacket! I think it was fate, I wasn't looking for one in particular, I was just browsing the website and there it was. Obviously I immediately put it in my virtual basket and ordered it. When it finally arrived I was smitten, it's a beautiful pastel pink and I love the way it fits. It's not a complete Zara copy which I quite like, in that it has a collar and has elbow detailing rather than on the shoulder.

£30 - Matalan - Available in: Pink

These are the cheaper alternatives that I came across while I was looking for my perfect pink leather jacket and now that I've found mine I hope this helps you find yours if you're looking for one. These options won't require you to splurge too much making it almost justifiable to add a coloured leather jacket to your wardrobe! Oh and these are all faux leather, I didn't write "faux leather jacket" every time because it would become very repetitive. I think it must be obvious looking at the price that these aren't real leather. River Island currently stocks some coloured real leather jackets for £120, crazy!

Have you bought a coloured leather jacket recently?
Leave me any comments below :)

P.S. You know what I'm going to say! Nominations for the Company Style Blogger Awards are still open and I'd love it if you nominated my blog, you can do so here. It would mean so much to me to have your support <3

  1. Wow, really great find! I actually prefer the Matalan one over the Zara - I have heard the Zara one is very stiff and boxy - the cut of your Matalan one is much nicer! Loving your blog at the moment :) Claire x

    2. It was one of the best things I accidentally found haha! Yeah, I went in store and tried it on and it felt a bit stiff but with some wear it would probably get a bit better but I simply couldn't justify the price and I much prefer a collar to none. Thank you! I'm so happy you like it :) X

  2. Primark is such a pain ... beautiful things come in, everyone goes mad for them, all the stock gets snapped up and then that's it - gone forever! I was obsessed with some gorgeous shoes a few months ago but I never ever saw them in store and I tried 4 all over the country - London, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Norwich ... then I just had to give up!

I'm loving your find, it's gorgeous! Really really lovely! People keep mentioning Matalan, it seems you can get yourself some real beauties there. I actually have one a walk away from my flat but keep forgetting to go. Maybe I'll go Bank Holiday weekend ... someone needs to remind me!

  8. I think Primark should stop having things just in London and stock the other stores, or i'm never going to have a chance! My local Primark is always rubbish compared to what other bloggers and Youtubers I see getting!
