One Dress Does Christmas & New Year

I was challenged by George at ASDA to put together a look featuring a dress from their party dresses selection. So I thought following on from yesterday's Christmas post (yep, looks like I'm starting early!), I'd style one dress for both Christmas and New Year's Eve! Imagine that, one dress worn two ways for this years' party season!

Christmas Day

The idea of dressing down a dress is sometimes unappealing to me but when done right, I definitely think it works. This beautiful midi dress is the perfect length to sit underneath a cosy Christmas jumper. Is it really Christmas if you're not sporting a Christmas jumper? Hahaha (or should I say hohoho), I love this festive one from Boohoo. I kept the outfit quite casual because I think Christmas Day is about spending time with family, but let's not forget the fun element - hello, reindeer antlers! I chose these gorgeous boots which are slightly higher than the average ankle boot and a good bag so you can carry your camera (to treasure the memories), your essentials and maybe even any little gifts from Santa! The illusion of a lace midi skirt will really make the outfit a whole lot smarter but you can still feel comfortable at the same time!

New Year's Eve

Now comes the best part! New Year's Eve is all about dressing up in my eyes and I absolutely love the whole glitz and glam trend during the festive season - I have fallen in love with so many things filled with sequins and sparkles it's quite frankly a crime. I tried to tone it down, slightly, as you don't want to go out looking like a disco ball. Let's face it, it's freezing during this time of year so I just had to go for a sensible option with the coat, but boy is it gorgeous! I went for a clutch perfect for the occasion and added some sparkly heels, after all the clutch does say to sparkle! I love my accessories so I thought I'd show you some pieces I'd add, a good statement watch of course, and an earcuff which I think will look gorgeous, especially if you have your hair tied up to accentuate the cut of the dress.

Also, what do you think about the Saturday post? I'm not too sure whether I'll carry on with this but I do think now that Christmas is getting closer I'd like to blog a little more to include as many festive things as I can! But we'll see.. as the end of term is getting closer at university so are my deadlines! Let me know whether you'd like to see me post more.

Which of these is your favourite? Christmas or New Year's Eve?
