A Whirlwind Trip to Paris

Paris, France

Last week I spent 24 hours in Paris with Maison Lejaby, it's been a while since I last went to Paris, I spent a year living in the outskirts of the city as part of my university degree so I had become accustomed to travelling back and forth between France and home. Getting there felt so normal, like I was back into that mundane routine of getting the train to and from Paris on a near-weekly basis. However, this time I wasn't alone - I was surrounded by a lovely group of bloggers and their friends, my good friend and photographer Maria, PR's and thrilled to be back as part of work.

I haven't really addressed my year abroad much and it's something I really want to do, whether that be in a video or a blog post, I just haven't had the chance to sit down and write about it. I also don't know whether it will be of interest to any of you as it's quite a particular topic but I think my experience can be applied to many different situations and basically I think it could be interesting to share a glimpse of my year in a different city, without friends and family nearby. To keep it short, my year abroad was challenging and now I'm not afraid to say that actually, I didn't enjoy it. It took me a while to come to terms with that as I felt like everybody around me was having the time of their lives whilst I was counting down the days to go home for the weekend.

Not to delve into that topic too much but my previous experience of Paris made me somewhat reluctant to go back as I didn't know what to expect nor how I'd feel. Having said that, this trip was the perfect way to do so. I was surrounded by other girls in this industry as a blogger which was amazing, I felt like I had come quite far all things considered, post university and giving blogging full time a go I was back in the city and feeling good.

Paris was cold, not quite as cold as the UK is right now but pretty chilly and when choosing my 24 hour wardrobe (living out of your suitcase is hard work!) I knew that a faux fur jacket was a must-have.

Recently I've been obsessed with faux fur, I think it's such a gorgeous look and of course keeps you incredibly snug even when it falls to minus outside. My most recent addition is from Monsoon and truly beautiful! It's this gorgeous emerald green colour which I've spotted in quite a few of my favourite high street stores and was dying to make a part of my current collection (it also comes in black if you're not so keen on the green). I personally love a cropped fit as I find it the most flattering on me and so this really ticked all the boxes!

I kept my outfit simple, a standard peexo look for the autumn/winter you'll most likely find me in this sort of gettup. I brought out my first roll neck of the season which I couldn't be more excited about! I love a good roll neck so I'm very happy to be building up my collection for this winter (I'm surprised I managed to hold off for this long!) This roll neck top is from New Look, I sized up as it's quite snug and I wanted a little more room but it still hugs my body really well. Available in an array of colours - I already have the light brownpink and dark grey - there's literally one for everybody.

My jeans are new! Gosh, it's really been a while since I've shared some new jeans hasn't it?! I shared a photo of this outfit whilst in Paris and got quite a few comments about these jeans! They're the new Orson jeans from Topshop. I try a lot of different jeans but rarely find a pair I fall for and can justify keeping (trust me, 5 pairs of Farleigh jeans are more than enough to keep me going) but these are a similar fit to my favourite Farleigh jeans and I thought a change would be nice, I also love the colour! My ankle boots are also from New Look which I have decided are the most comfortable boots, I can walk around in them comfortably for hours and my bag is from Carvela.
