A Guide to Finding the Perfect Wicker Bag

The wicker bag has caught every fashion-loving girls' eye and I haven't been left behind! However, I think it's imperative to buy something that suits you and your lifestyle, and not just buy because you want it.

I find myself lusting after so many must-have items, maybe it's because I'm a blogger, or maybe it's because I love fashion - or both - and more often than not, I end up with said coveted item in my wardrobe. I always try to be rational before buying into trends because it can be all well and good having a coveted item sitting in your wardrobe but weather or not it will actually get any wear is another question.

So when wicker bags took the fashion world by storm I instantly wanted one. My favourites are the traditional wicker baskets from market stalls but those aren't readily available in the UK and not exactly made for city-living. I knew I needed something that I could use with ease in London so a zip, or some sort of clasp, was a necessity, followed by a handle or straps so I could easily carry it. I did a little bit of searching and then came across this wicker bag from Marks & Spencer! Which, at only £15, is a steal in my opinion.

I must admit, since buying this bag I've found it a little difficult to style because I think it's more perfectly suited to a holiday, meaning it hasn't been the bag I gravitate to the most, but whenever I lack inspiration I turn to Pinterest to find exactly what I'm looking for and I found most people style their wicker bags with really simple outfits and there's a lot of white so I went for the same sort of thing. I wore a white shirt from SheIn which I've had for years now so I'll try to find some similar alternatives (here and here) paired with light wash denim jeans from ASOS, I think I'm starting to love ripped jeans again now that the sun is shining, these are my favourite Farleigh jeans with ripped knees. And these heels I'm wearing are from L'Intervalle and have been quite eye-catching! I wore this last weekend and a Spanish lady walked past me and said, and I quote: "¡Que zapatos tan lindos!" (translated: what beautiful shoes - I'm Portuguese so I managed to understand) so I was pretty chuffed.
