The Ugly Shoe Trend

I can't get over the fact I look so angry in all of these photos haha! I guess it just wasn't my day.. I was recently gifted a pair of Birkenstocks from Cloggs and I can't tell you how nice they feel on your feet. I have never been too keen on the ugly shoe trend, I think some people really pull it off but I don't think I'm one of those. I just end up looking really lazy and not put together at all (exhibit A being this post). Maybe that's why I adopted the b*tch face for this look.. 

I initially tried styling them with what I would typically wear but I found Birkenstocks looked too bulky on me, maybe because they're a dark colour, but I think it's mostly because I have big feet - size 7 problems, who's with me? So I just threw on my ripped jeans, a slouchy grey vest top, and slipped on my Birkenstocks. This outfit is really laid back, I'm sure you can tell, so it's easy to recreate. Accessory wise I kept it toned down with just my silver watch which was pretty cheap (I'm saving up to buy myself a good silver watch).

    I hated these shoes but I tried some sparkly ones on yesterday and loved them! Tempted to get them, but they are ugly hahahah!!

    Yeah, I definitely feel the same about the clunky/ugly shoe trend. I really don't get why people are consciously spending money on stuff they think is weird looking just because it's a trend. And please...size 7 problems? Try size 9 problems. I have trouble with every flat sandal out there.

      I was lucky to have been sent these, I think if I were to try out the trend I would have bought a cheap knockoff from Primark or so. I think trends are highly influential especially within the blogging world, but so many people I have spoken to hated them and then fell in love with them haha so I guess you can't judge until you try it. A friend of mine is a size 9 too and gets her shoes made! I guess size 7 isn't that bad in comparison! X

    its so funny how when somethings a trend you are slowly persueded to like it!! when i noticed these were gonna be a trend i swore i wouldn't get any but I'm getting increasingly tempted which is so annoying aahah. On a side note very cute outfit i have some similar jeans and I'm obsessed! xx

      I know! I was the same, and I think I still am slightly, but I'm definitely leaning more towards them now (especially in the summer heat, they're just too comfy!) X
