Lanzarote Lookbook: Day 4

Lanzarote, Las Palmas, Spain

Day 4! We went along to the beach one evening nearing the end of our holiday, the sunset wasn't on our side of the island so we could only see it from afar and we were far too lazy to get up for sunrise so we settled for the pretty coloured sky instead. Here's what I wore to the beach one evening...

You will have seen this crop top previously in my holiday lookbook on Day 2, it's such a pretty crop top and I think stripes always look flattering. I've fallen in love with the bardot style as it's pretty versatile; previously I wore the crop top around my shoulders (if that even makes sense) but for this look I brought the sleeves a little higher so they cover my shoulders which is a nice alternative; two styles in one.

As I've said in previous posts it got pretty windy in Lanzarote and stupidly I didn't even bother to research that, and only took a single pair of jeans with me (which were for the flight to and from Lanzarote) so I opted for a slit maxi skirt which ended up blowing beautifully in the breeze. As it began to get colder as the night drew closer I had a sneaky little option at hand...

...remember me saying I could use my fluffy white jumper for summer nights? Well, I did. I initially took it in my hand luggage to throw on on the plane as it can get a little cold whilst flying but it definitely came in handy in the evenings when the wind began to kick in. As I tend to wear mostly high waisted things in the summer, a little cropped jumper was perfect to keep me warm and not spoil my outfit in the process.

What would you wear for an evening on the beach?

  1. I went to Rhodes last year not realising it's the windiest Greek island. Some evenings it got so windy, one night we were up on a rooftop restaurant and the napkins were blowing everywhere :s It's funny how you don't always think to pack for cooler temperatures when you're heading somewhere hot for your Summer holiday ... think we just get too excited about having some nice heat on our skin!

    1. Ohhh I've been to Rhodes too, but I didn't find it as windy as Lanzarote. Haha, I can relate all too well, there'd be things flying about all over the place - even beach towels! Completely agree, I definitely regretted not taking away any summer trousers or even just some jeans with me. I guess we learn from our mistakes :P X

  7. Just a question Patricia... are you tall? because on the website the long part of this skirt seems to nearly touch the ground but it looks a lot shorter on you! I've been looking for a skirt like this for ages for my holidays but I'm not overly tall and it'd be wearing it with flat sandals.. I wouldn't want it trailing on the ground!
