A Recipe For the Perfect Night In with the Girls

a recipe for a night in with the girls peexo
I have reached the conclusion that I have very much entered grandma territory. I choose staying in over going out on most days and in the lead up to Christmas I'm pretty sure that won't be changing! So as I start planning my Christmas get togethers with close friends and family, I've started to think about how to induce some festive cheer from the comfort of my own home.

What To Buy and How To Wrap For...

Friday, 8 December 2017

One of my favourite things about Christmas is wrapping gifts, I find it so soothing and I just love having creative control over how a gift will look. I put this partially down to social media and feeling like literally all aspects of my life need to be Instagram-ready (which at times can be both a bad and good thing). So on December 1st I wanted to really get into the Christmas spirit and to do so I decided to start wrapping presents and I thought I'd share a few with you! These are a few ideas of what to buy some of the ladies in your life and how to wrap...

Reintroducing Colour Into My Winter Wardrobe

Wednesday, 6 December 2017

peexo colour winter wardrobe
The start of winter almost always leaves me feeling overwhelmed when it comes to my personal style. I mean, what can you wear other than jumpers and jackets on a daily basis?! This year in particular I've noticed my wardrobe has become incredibly monochromatic, there is the odd pop of colour every now and again but I'm nowhere near as adventurous as I have been in previous years with my shoes and accessories and style in general. As we're only just approaching winter, I'm going to actively try to change this.

Christmas Gifts for the Beauty Lover

A lot of us are thinking about what to buy for our friends and family for Christmas this year and I have a few more gift ideas to share with you between now and Christmas (which is now only less than 3 weeks away!)

Vinyl In The Daytime

Monday, 4 December 2017

peexo winter style blogger fashion london
Recently I've been dipping in and out of the vinyl trend, one minute I'm all for it and the next I'm not so sure about it and whether it's actually for me. With that said, that doesn't stop me from trying and experimenting with the trend in more ways. It's so easy to see a trend and think "that's not for me" or "I could never pull that off" but I definitely think it's always worth giving something a go. Yes, you could hate it but you could also end up really loving it - so what is there to lose?!

Wrapping Up This December

peexo fashion december personal style
I've been counting down the days 'till December for a good few months now, counting down the days 'till it's finally acceptable to blast Christmas songs, drink many hot drinks a day and completely immerse myself in the Christmas spirit! Although now that we've actually reached December I don't feel quite as festive anymore - retailers have pushed forward Christmas by months now so when we finally reach December, I'm all Christmassed out!

With Less Than a Month Until Christmas, The Gift Guides to Get You On Track

Wednesday, 29 November 2017

When it comes to Christmas you're either one of those really organised people who has most of their Christmas shopping completed by November or you're scrambling around on Christmas Eve trying to find last minute gifts, I would say I'm closer to the latter. Whichever category you fall in, I hope that my gift guides this year will come in handy for anybody you may be struggling with gift ideas for and possibly even provide a few ideas to pop on your wishlist too!

Getting Ready for an Evening In Paris

Tuesday, 28 November 2017

peexo paris travel makeup
Day-to-night makeup is tricky, it usually means I haven't had the chance to remove my makeup from the day and re-do it for the evening. When topping up my makeup I try to keep things quite simple and not be too heavy handed which I think can be very easily done when you don't have to do your full makeup routine and minor touchups can become hefty changes. I try to keep my overall look simple and here's how.

A Whirlwind Trip to Paris

Monday, 27 November 2017

travel blogger peexo style paris
Last week I spent 24 hours in Paris with Maison Lejaby, it's been a while since I last went to Paris, I spent a year living in the outskirts of the city as part of my university degree so I had become accustomed to travelling back and forth between France and home. Getting there felt so normal, like I was back into that mundane routine of getting the train to and from Paris on a near-weekly basis. However, this time I wasn't alone - I was surrounded by a lovely group of bloggers and their friends, my good friend and photographer Maria, PR's and thrilled to be back as part of work.

A Black Friday Guide for Anybody Feeling Overwhelmed

Friday, 24 November 2017

black friday shopping
There are so many amazing Black Friday discounts about at the moment which have left me feeling so overwhelmed. The desire to spend is definitely there but I've been inundated with new daily deals on Instagram, Twitter, email and even some texts too! To avoid making any hasty decisions and purchasing more of what I probably don't need, I've sourced some of my current favourite discounts and thought I'd share these with you as quite a few people agreed with me when I said that this year the Black Friday deals were overwhelming.

The Art of Gifting with Monsoon

Last week I attended a beautiful event with Monsoon to get me in the Christmas gifting spirit. This week is pretty much all about gifts for me as I'm working on my gift guide videos and planning other Christmas content surrounding the season of giving so it couldn't have been a more perfect time! Wearing a full Monsoon outfit for the occasion, I spent the evening giving calligraphy a go and picking some gifts with my mum in mind.

Those Flat Over The Knee Boots

Tuesday, 14 November 2017

peexo over the knee boots autumn style
Ahh, say hello to the over the knee boots of dreams! I've definitely spoken about them before but this is the first time I've photographed them which gives me enough of an excuse to talk about them all over again right? This year it has definitely taken me longer than usual to get in to wearing over the knee boots and whilst it may seem like it's far too cold to wear these out now, these boots hide a multitude of secrets!

Outfit Repeating

Monday, 13 November 2017

peexo fashion blogger personal style
My daily looks aren't too dissimilar from one another and I end up outfit repeating more often than I realise. I shot this outfit a few weeks a go and couldn't help but feel a sense of deja-vu whilst editing the photos and that's because I have already shared something pretty similar on here last month (in this blog post). Almost tempted to not share this - as I don't know how interested you are in seeing the same jumper and jeans combo again - I took one look at my accessories and knew that despite its similarities to a previous look I needed to share!

Choosing and Styling Leopard Print

styling leopard print peexo fashion blogger london
I'm sure by now you're well aware of how much I absolutely love leopard print, it's my guilty obsession! With that said, the print can be very hit-or-miss in my opinion and often the print and colours aren't quite right leading to it looking tacky as opposed to classy. So when it comes to leopard print, these are my top tips when picking a print and how to incorporate it into your everyday looks.

My Comfort Zone

Tuesday, 7 November 2017

london fashion blogger peexo
More often than not I would say I don't really have a distinct personal style however, I do have my style comfort zone. If you've just scrolled through my blog a few times then I'm sure you will probably know what my wardrobe staples are: ankle boots, high waisted jeans and a top or jumper tucked in. I've always said that I experiment much more with my style thanks to my blog but those three pieces are my fail-safe and ultimately, my style comfort zone (a term I have 100% just made up but I hope it makes sense).

How To Wear Over The Knee Boots Without Looking Extra

Monday, 6 November 2017

london style blogger peexo
As much as I love over the knee boots I don't wear them that often, I find they can be quite hard to style, sometimes looking pretty extra for a day in the city. I have tried to incorporate them into my daily looks much more though which has led me to experiment with how I wear my over the knee boots. The most common way being with something short like a mini dress or skirt and whilst I love that look I don't think it's the most wearable day to day. I wanted to experiment a little more with different lengths and seeing how these boots looked.

Welcoming Coat Weather With Open Arms

peexo november coat weather
I've been patiently waiting for November before reaching for my coats and it has finally happened! Last weekend was the first time I had left my house wearing a biker jacket and felt like I needed a coat to keep me warm which was both exciting (I'm all for coat weather) but also a bit sad as that means the end of warm weather for a long while.

Hello November!

hello november peexo blogger
I am oh so excited about welcoming November! I'm a winter girl at heart and just absolutely love the winter months. Yes, it gets colder, too cold at times, and yes it now gets dark at around 4pm but nothing beats cosy evenings spent indoors wrapped up on the sofa watching TV (this makes me want to do this right now!) October pretty much felt like a Halloween month but now that's over the focus turns to the countdown to Christmas!

5 Beauty Hacks I Swear By

5 beauty hacks peexo
When it comes to beauty, I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the greatest. I enjoy makeup and beauty but I'm in no way a connoisseur when it comes to what's great and what's not. Having said that, I know what works for me and as I have become more and more obsessed with makeup and beauty products in general there are a few hacks that I've come to swear by and use in my beauty routine often, if not daily!

Ditching Transitional Dressing

ditching transitional dressing peexo fashion blogger autumn
As October draws to a close and November's chapter opens up, I'm making the most of the last few days of crisp autumn mornings and the chance to wear my skirts without tights (I'm still unsure about whether I'll be delving into tights territory this year as I rarely wear them). So as we say goodbye to transitional dressing, no more bare legs for a while, and say hello to paler skin and many more layers I'm wearing some of my transitional favourites one last time.

Reinventing a Classic: The Trench Coat

Friday, 27 October 2017

I associate a trench coat with being traditionally British, I don't know why, perhaps it's because Burberry is one of the most iconic British brands known for its classic trench coat. When thinking about what to share today I briefly scanned the weather app on my phone and noticed that we should be expecting sunshine today (finger's crossed I haven't jinxed this by writing the night before!) and so I thought it was the perfect time to talk about the lightweight outerwear piece that I often gravitate towards at this time of year.

My Top Tips for Staying On Top Of Your Content

Having graduated from university this summer, I thought I'd take the plunge and give blogging a proper go. Whilst it's still incredibly scary and a huge risk for me, I'm enjoying doing what I love and I hope I can make it work in the long-run. I was so unsure about what I wanted to be writing, creating and shooting to share with you and I was sort of stuck throughout the month of September, feeling generally uncertain about everything. Obviously, I didn't want to continue feeling that way and I knew that if I wanted to see a change I would need to actively seek change.

How To Seamlessly Continue Wearing Skirts Throughout Autumn

I've been loving all things autumn (just in case you haven't noticed already...) and recently I've been thinking about how my style has changed since the summer, how I've had to adapt to the autumn weather, autumn styles and being back in London after what seemed like a lifetime in Portugal over the summer. With that said, there are definitely aspects of summer that I'm still doing my best to hold on to.

Last weekend I shared this outfit on Instagram and it got so much love! It was actually one of those outfits that required very little thinking behind it (I sometimes spend ages searching for inspiration and meticulously planning my outfits) and it always surprises me when those outfits get the most love from you. I think we all love the simplest looks. I shared my outfit alongside some quick tips on what to wear when you don't know what to wear, a few of you left some comments saying you liked those tips so I thought I'd share a few more with you in today's blog post!

Now that it's truly starting to feel like autumn, these are some of the things I'm most looking forward to this season!

Does The Fashion Industry Snub Bloggers?

Tuesday, 17 October 2017

london fashion week peexo blogger
Fashion week has always remained a very elitist affair where we're used to seeing celebrities sitting on the front row and relying on magazines and mainstream media to showcase the upcoming designs, trends and looks. The emergence of blogs has created a new outlet for fashion week coverage, one where we, as bloggers, are able to put our own twist on what used to be considered normal and ultimately, share whatever we want but does this lead to being snubbed?

Come autumn you can expect to see the typical autumnal trends make a come-back, the addition of ankle boots is a must and I don't know about you, but knitwear is currently spewing out of my wardrobe. I'm always excited to see which new trends are going to be hitting the high street every season and this autumn there's a new trend on the block: the midi-maxi.

Last weekend I took a trip to a pumpkin patch and it was pretty amazing, I'm not even exaggerating. I've wanted to go to a pumpkin patch for a while and as soon as we reached October and autumn mode kicked in, the search began. Not knowing what to expect (photos can be deceiving) we set off on a mini road trip to probably the best place ever and a must-visit this month if you can.

The Wrath of Instagram: Is It Dictating Our Lives?

Since the introduction of the dreaded Instagram algorithm, a lot of us have noticed a fall in everything from engagement to followers. I'm guilty of constantly checking my phone to see how many likes/comments/followers I have, and throughout the day I end up doing this more times than I would like to admit.

What Not To Do When You're Stuck In a Style Rut

At least once a year these style woes come knocking and every year I fall into the trap of not knowing what to wear which actually puts a downer on a lot of what I do. Whilst I'm still not sure about what exactly you should do when you're stuck in a style rut other than wait for it to pass, there are a few things I try not to do when the dreaded style rut swings by.

Today's post features 2 different takes on the heritage trend that continues to take over the high street. There's an array of blazers available at the moment and I quickly jumped on the trend. I've been loving the casual way of wearing a blazer but I also wanted to go down the traditional route and create two improvised Prince of Wales check suits. I haven't posted a day-to-night look in forever, I hope you like my take on this trend!

I'm feeling so autumnal, ready for the season ahead, and just generally loving everything about this season and it has only just begun. With that said, I think I'm ready to say goodbye to the summer. Goodbye to the constant feeling of I'm not good enough for this; goodbye to the worry surrounding Instagram; goodbye to strict schedules that have made social media less enjoyable for me; goodbye to the summer that has been and gone.

The Easy Way To Wear Light Colours In Autumn

Autumn is by far my favourite season, I love all things knitwear, ankle boots (they're my guilty pleasure!), lightweight coats and long dresses almost always in the traditional autumnal hues. Admittedly, my wardrobe goes over to the dark side as autumn begins - there just seems to be more available but sticking to a lighter colour palette throughout autumn can definitely be done.

The Seasonal Style Rut Strikes Again

"I don't know what to wear!"

The words that come out of my mouth every morning as I stare into my wardrobe that is filled to the brim, yet I have absolutely nothing to wear. I pick out the same few pieces over and over and can't seem to do anything else. The transitional period between summer and autumn is the one I struggle the most with.

Mixing New On-Trend Pieces with Summer Wardrobe Favourites

I find this always happens; you initially spot someone wearing a piece you're not too sure about but then you see it rapidly take over in the blogosphere and then stocked in your favourite high street stores and then it somehow ends up making it into your wardrobe (no idea how that happened!) This is how trend led pieces make their way into my wardrobe, not sure about you?

An Unexpected Trip

As the end of this year's break in Portugal approached, we did our best to fit in some more exploring before we had to pack our bags to head back to reality. A car drive following the Rio Tua led us to Foz do Tua; smaller than a village, the hamlet housed a train station, café, some houses and little else. We stuck around for a while to do some exploring and grab a drink, and then, a coal train pulled in.

Last Week In Portugal I...

Monday, 28 August 2017

Just like that, three weeks have gone by super quickly and I'm heading back to the UK tonight! I must admit, I'm really looking forward to being back home but having said that, I enjoyed my time in Portugal and tried to make the most of it as best as I could. So, here's a roundup of my final week in Portugal and what I got up to.

How To Make The Most of Wherever You Are

Friday, 25 August 2017

making the most of wherever you are
This summer I vowed to make the most of being in a different country and different location. I've struggled with making my holidays look idyllic in the past (reality dictates that not everything is as incredible as it looks online) but I've tried to make that feel different this time around by making the most of where I am.

I can't believe week 2 in Portugal has been and gone, this summer is going by super quickly and whilst I'm really looking forward to Autumn and being back in London, it doesn't stop me from felling slightly scared about how quickly this summer has flown by - I only have 1 week left! But enough of that, here's a look at what I got up to last week!

Golden Hour At The Beach

Last week we were by the sea for a couple of days for a wedding and so naturally, we squeezed in a trip to the beach! We spent most of the day at the beach and then went back to our hotel to shower and change for the evening. One thing I love about being by the beach is the incredible sunset which we made sure we didn't miss!

A Country Threatened By Flames

Friday, 18 August 2017

It's heartbreaking to hear about all the forest fires that are devastating Portugal at the moment, it's scary to feel the constant threat of fires spreading through the country. Whilst forest fires aren't a new occurrence in Portugal, every year they seem to get worse, affecting so many people and always the most vulnerable in villages like mine, surrounded by greenery.

Last Week In Portugal I...

In 2015, I started this mini feature whilst in Portugal and so far, it's been a yearly thing. For that reason, I thought I'd bring it back again! As I spend quite a lot of time in Portugal I thought it would be nice to share some snippets of what I get up to on a weekly basis. I've decided to keep these roundups very casual with some snaps from my iPhone as they're usually the photos I really love and rarely get to share other than on my Instagram story (which disappears after 24hrs anyway). So here goes...

The Portugal I Know

Monday, 14 August 2017

This year - thanks to Instagram believe it or not - I've fallen for the Portugal I know. I say thanks to Instagram because it's on trend to capture images of vineyards, lemon trees and fresh fruits which is exactly what I am surrounded by here. I used to desperately search for white backgrounds and perfectly painted houses but this year, I couldn't be less interested in finding those and rather sharing snippets of what I've known my whole life.

Going to the desert was something I desperately wanted to do whilst in Dubai, it's something so surreal yet we missed out on the experience during our first trip to Dubai back in 2014 and I wished we had been. So this time around it simply couldn't go a-miss. And so, one evening we set off from our hotel for a desert adventure.

Dubai is one of those cities that holds so many beautiful things; whether you're stepping foot in the desert or you're visiting The Dubai Mall for the first time, there's so much to see and do which go beyond your wildest dreams. Whilst we spent the majority of our days lounging by the pool, some days we just needed an escape into some air con filled rooms and luckily, there's plenty to see in Dubai!

It's so easy to get lost amidst the colour and wonders of the lost city of Atlantis. This trip was my second visit to Dubai and the second time I stayed at Atlantis The Palm, so the brightly coloured aquarium wasn't new to me but somehow I still managed to get lost inside all over again.

I've been to Dubai once before, which I actually blogged about believe it or not, but it was very early on in my blogging journey so all my content is pretty cringe (I'm not going to link back to old posts but they're all there for your viewing pleasure should you wish to look for them). Here's what I did this year...

A Weekend In Finchley

Friday, 21 July 2017

weekend in finchley peexo london fashion blogger
Being a South West London girl (born and bred), I've never really had the chance to explore some areas of London and I'm making a conscious effort to change that whenever I can. Summer in London is one of the best times to explore the city from the outside, that is, without being cooped up indoors sheltering from the rain. One of the perks of being in London is the sheer amount of greenery there is and the parks nestled within the city.
